The works, drawn primarily from the French chanson repertoire, immediately resonate with students: they build on familiar melodies, stimulate listening, facilitate sight-reading and recreate a direct connection with the instrument.

Technique ceases to be an obstacle and becomes a springboard; CrocK’MusiC is not an alternative to the traditional repertoire, it is a parallel path that leads back to it naturally.

The piano transcription by Aline Sans of this delicate work has been adapted here to strike a perfect balance between the melodic intimacy of the song and a high-level pianistic writing, while meeting the demands of the highest levels. Set to music by Maurice Vander, his faithful pianist, Nougaro depicts a loving stroll with the mastery of language that defines him.
